I look forward to the environmental revolution because I live on a main road and sometimes really really noisy fossil fuel cars go by and make huge fart noises and go bang occasionally and itβs alarming.
@cassolotl There's a few super-loud muscle/sports cars in my neighborhood that go right past my apartment and I'm with you in looking forward to all-electric and fuel cell cars.
@hummingrain Do your windows shake? It's so... rattly!
@cassolotl Not usually, but our apartment used to rumble about when one of our neighbors was working on a classic muscle car in his carport and would turn over/rev/really use in any way the engine. It was pretty rare but v. freaky.
@hummingrain It's just not right that vehicles can make that kind of noise! D:
@cassolotl Let's just go back to bikes, horses, and horse-drawn transports in urban areas.
Honestly given the distances people travel that might actually work...
@hummingrain @cassolotl philly actually has a horse drawn taxi business! Its smaller a smaller business, and more expensive than getting a car taxi so it mostly gets used by tourists
@Satsuma @hummingrain Awwww I love that! Also I wonder if it would come under #velopunk? @Stoori said walking is included. But do all grazing animals make a lot of methane, or is that just cows?
@Satsuma @hummingrain @Stoori Bleh. I did see something somewhere that said that cows produce LOTS less methane if they eat seaweed, I thought that was cool! Let me see if I can find it...
