@lexjay It's a new Mastodon feature that hasn't quite been merged yet - so it's just my usual instance, but with the sneak new-feature peek! I'm on Android so I went to Chrome and went to my instance and then picked "add to homescreen" in the menu and it turns it into an app, kinda.

@cassolotl Since I replied from the wrong account before...

"Maybe, what was the results of that poll btw? Did you share that somewhere? "

@maloki Ohhh it's still going, but there were less than 50 responses last time I checked! I'll grab it when I get back to my browser. :)

@cassolotl is the thing where likes are public and bookmarks are private happening?

also what does that even mean

does it mean bookmarking doesn't send a notification? or does it mean people can browse your likes?

at any rate, i feel much safer with my likes not being browsable by anyone but me, just, delivered to the user that made the post

does this update make the likes browsable by other ppl,?

@kit Okay so it's not a big sweeping change, it doesn't affect stars/likes, so that feature isn't changing. It's just an addition - it lets you save them privately, no notifications are sent. I'm not 100% sure about this, the pull request is a bit vague and I've not tested it, but I'm quite sure! I'll poke it more when I'm on my laptop so I can find how it works. :)

@cassolotl thank you ;; i am definitely for a way to save posts w/o generating a notification, i just

had only seen ppl describing this as "likes are public" which got me wondering like. what that actually mean,s

so. thanku again

@kit Oh yeah! If you click the likes number on a post then you can see who's liked it, so I think that's what people mean when they say likes are public. I don't think you can see a list of all of someone's likes by clicking a link on their profile or anything. ๐Ÿค”

I am also very pro private bookmarks! :)

@cassolotl .........i never knew you could click that in web ui

in the ... website ui (yk the. not tweetdeck) you can't so i ... never tried here

@cassolotl @kit Depends on the implementation. On GNU Social, you can get a list of favs.
