My favourite way to use Mastodon on Android is not an app!
"How to add a Mastodon website to your Home screen as an app on Android"

@cassolotl even better with pinafore (also web)
@cassolotl Also works with Firefox on Android!
I don't find the option, could you please help me?
@Aznorth
Fron the "hamburger" menu in the top right select "Page >" then "Add Page Shortcut." You'll see an icon for it on your home screen.
@djoerd @cassolotl
@cassolotl does it have the emoji dropdown? And how does it deal with multiple accounts?
@DialMforMara It does have the emoji dropdown. You can see how it works by making any browser window very narrow, basically!
It's still only one website though. You can have as many instances on your home screen as you like but they stay separate.
@cassolotl You're a genius. This is actually really good; at least as good as the apps that I've used. Don't know why I didn't think to use it in the browser in the first place.
@PatchworkMind Ohhh I just wrote it down. :D I think it's pretty amazing how hard Gargron works to make sure that Mastodon is really good in a mobile browser, y'know?
I didn't know this was a thing!! Cool!
@gryphon Oh nice, glad to have helped!
@cassolotl also works with Samsung Internet and Firefox BTW. This is how I use Mastodon on mobile.
@cassolotl if only you could do this in the duckduckgo appπ
@cassolotl It is actually a (progressive web) app.
@cassolotl I knew that.
@cassolotl nah. Use Tusky. It is the best.
@cassolotl I was actually wondering what apps I should use to toot !! Thanks οΌοΌΎβοΌΎοΌ
@sasha You're welcome! :) There are some good apps out there (Tusky for Android and Amaroq for iPhone get mentioned a lot), but the progressive web app is my fave. :)
@cassolotl DOn't use chrome miss me with that gay shit
