I noticed that the new bot nameplate stuff is going to interact a bit weirdly with the support for actors with multiple types. Specifically, the actor_type field will end up as the stringification of the array.

I'm wondering if you think it'd make sense to make that column either 1. use Postgres's json support for the column or 2. use `serialize` in the model (in both cases to allow it to support arrays of types)?

and especially merging one that was developed independently (like if glitchsoc implemented one) would be understandably a really big and scary thing

i mean tbf i don’t really judge them for being unlikely imo to merge a plugin system.

plugin systems are hard to design and depending on how they’re designed expose a lot more of API surface area that you have to worry about not changing incompatibly

not that upstream would ever merge a plugin system lol

partially because i wanna do silly things that will never get merged (and probably shouldn’t even get merged in like... glitch-soc)

partially because there are a lot of actual serious that make sense on a more a la carte level and it’s kinda silly that most everyone depends on upstream to merge them to get access to them

okay qt is annoying and also the qml command does nothing on my computer???? like using a v smol example qml file from the docs, with verbose on it's like 'loading [the file name]' and then nothing for literally hours

i gave up and installed ubuntu 18.04 beta

weh it hangs trying to load the initramdisk i guess

80% i give up and just use ubuntu -_-

debian was being enough of an issue that i decided resolving it would be as much work as installing arch

so i'm spending my night installing arch

so, i’m attempting to install stretch on a x1 carbon thinkpad

i am not managing to get the netinst installers to work: all of the options in the grub menu just result in a blank screen (i’ve tried some fiddling with kernel boot parameters without any change)

anyone have any ideas/has anyone successfully installed stretch on a recent thinkpad?
